Brockum / Giant vs reprints
Official 80s and early-90s merch is usually Brockum on Screen Stars or Hanes blanks. Giant takes over from the Black Album through Load. A Gildan “1986 Master of Puppets” is a reprint. Lot copies are vintage only when the blank and print are era-correct. See how we authenticate.
How to authenticate a Metallica tee
Look at the collar tag (Screen Stars, Brockum, Giant, Stedman on the earliest blanks). Single-stitch hems usually mean before the mid-90s. Pushead and Doris skulls are heavily faked — the print has to be screen, not DTG. A copyright year on a Giant tag is often the contract year, not the print year. Tags by decade.
Eras
Kill ’Em All / Ride the Lightning · Master of Puppets / Justice · Black Album / Wherever I May Roam / Lollapalooza · Load / ReLoad / Fixxxer · later (St. Anger, Death Magnetic). Date the shirt from the tour graphic, not a default 1990 in a spreadsheet. 1980s · 1990s · Shirts by tour.

| Puppets / Justice | $300–$600 | $700–$1,500 |
| Black Album | $80–$150 | $200–$450 |
| Load / ReLoad | $40–$80 | $100–$200 |
